In-Flight Fire Emergencies – ERAU Aviation English Training

As the Aviation English Department of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University was offering training on their catalog, I was in for their in-flight fire emergencies training course online. I first thought that it’d be easy as it is open to ICAO level 3 aviation professionals. Yet I’ve learned things, and I’m sure I’ve become a better instructor thanks to them. Here’s my feedback to make it short:

Many thanks to Embry-Riddle Aviation English department, as I’ve just completed their In-flight fire emergencies training. I recommend their aviation English courses which are quite interesting. ERAU has done a great job by proposing modules quite helpful to air traffic controllers, aviation English teachers as well as pilots. FCL ANGLAIS teaches and also need learn to keep up a high level of service. Clearly, flight safety can improve if you join their online training, learn and share. A crew has around 17 minutes to land after an in-flight fire breakout. Clear communications help save precious time. It was the first time I’d worked with ERAU, and I guess it won’t be the last one.

Helicopter Pilot Achieves ICAO Level 5 in French

Helicopter chinook dropping water onto wildfires, French language rating for pilot, FCL .055 ICAO level 5

Antonio really made my day! This helicopter pilot has been dropping water to tackle – and put out – wildfires all over Europe for many years. As he needed the FCL .055 rating in French, he started working on aviation French in early May. After only 19 training hours he managed to pass his FCL .055 with flying colours – ICAO level 5. He’s going to extinguish wildfires in the south of France. Congratulations Antonio as it is well deserved! Here below a video with feedback about the kind of test you can expect as a helicopter pilot when you take it at the DGAC.
